Information
UTP is a Government-Linked University, which is wholly owned by
Malaysia’s national oil corporation, PETRONAS. Established in 1997,
UTP has grown to be the most prominent private universities in
Malaysia, offering a wide range of industry-relevant engineering,
technology, sciences and management programmes, with the aim of
producing well-rounded graduates exhibiting excellent leadership
qualities and communication abilities. UTP is currently rated
Tier-6 (Outstanding) University in the Malaysia’s SETARA that
manifest its excellence in Teaching & Learning. UTP also places
strong emphasis on Research and Innovation as it strives to achieve
the status of an internationally renowned Research University. The
university, which conducts extensive research activities in
collaboration with PETRONAS and other institutions and industries
locally and abroad successively, has been awarded a 6-star
excellent rating by Malaysia’s MyRA for its research, development,
and commercialization efforts. In international arena, the
university has continuously achieved numerous recognitions in only
25 years of its establishment. Amongst others are ranked 72nd in
the QS Asia University Rankings 2022 and 159th in the QS World
University Rankings 2022 by Subject Engineering & Technology. Other
