Information
National Defence University of Malaysia (NDUM) was established on
21st June 2006 with the aim to produce military and civilian
graduates for the country's defense needs. It began with the
establishment of the Malaysian Military Academy or Akademik Tentera
Malaysia (ATMA) on 1st June 1995 as an organization that is
responsible to conduct the Defence Foundation Program and
Bachelor's Degree. Currently, NDUM has established four faculties,
a Language Centre, and a Defence Fitness Academy to cater to almost
4,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The faculties are
namely the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Defence Science
and Technology, the Faculty of Defence Management and Studies, and
the Faculty of Defence Medicine and Health. These academic programs
will be able to attract students as it also provides a curriculum
that covers the field of defense science and technology that is
hands-on. The knowledge gained can be applied to national defence
assets such as naval vessels, aircraft, and military equipment in
the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). In addition, it can be
implemented in the industrial sector based on the latest science
and technology.
